HOW TO OPEN A PayPal ACCOUNT IN NIGERIA
Open your device browser and visit https://www.paypal.com/ng/home . The link is the PayPal website page for Nigerians. Note that if you do not follow this link things may not work perfectly when trying to register your account.
When the website opens, click on the “Sign Up” button located at the top-right of the website page. The red arrow on the image below indicates the signup button.
When you click the Sign-Up button, a Captcha will show to help you verify if you are Human. Verify bypassing the Captcha test.
The next page that will open up is the Phone number verification form. You need to type your Nigerian phone number on the form and click the “Next” button. This will take you to another page where you need to enter the codes sent to your Nigerian phone number.
After verifying the phone number, a signup form page will load automatically. Complete all the details required in the form such as your Email address, and account password.
The next page that loads will be a registration form. Type your names, address, date of birth, phone number. This information has to be the way it is with your bank account details for easy authorization of the account for transactions.
Afterwards, you will be taken to another page for your ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) linking to the PayPal account. Note that you can only use your PayPal account for online transactions after linking your ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) to it.
The process of linking your ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) to your PayPal account involves putting your ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) details (Pin Numbers, Expiration date, and the three digits transaction codes) on the form provided in the account.
After the linking, you will need to verify your email address. Open your email address used in the account and follow the link sent by PayPal to verify your PayPal account.
After email verification, your PayPal account will be ready for online transactions. You can receive money and send money directly from your bank account through the ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) you linked to it.
THINGS YOU MUST KNOW
Please note, for your PayPal account to remain active in making online payments, you must ensure that the ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) use are using has not expired and that it does not have an insufficient fund in the bank account.
Your ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) must be MasterCard or VISA Card from any Nigerian bank.
You can link more than one ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) to your PayPal account and be able to choose which of the bank ATM Card (Debit Card or Credit Card) pays for a particular good or service online.
