Do you just buy MTN SIM because other networks are not giving you the right services and you don’t know how to load your MTN Card, then this post is meant for you.

MTN has served Nigeria for over a decade and it is one of giants offering telecom services in Africa. The sim you just bought helps to make calls and buy data for subscription to access internet services. Whichever one you intend to use the MTN sim card for, you must load the card with credit before the sim becomes active or gives you access to make calls or data. Today, network subscribers especially MTN subscribers can load MTN Card through different sources depending on the one they find convenient. 

Recharge Cards

This is also called MTN Voucher Recharge Code. Recharge cards are slips or in the scratch cards sold mainly in many retail shops all over the country which carry 16 or 17 digits pin codes which must be inputted on your phone with the USSD code to load as credit. 

So the code to load MTN Voucher Recharge Card is *555* PIN#. Example: – *555*67440132557187645# 

The moment you input this digits, press the send button or the green dial button on your phone and the airtime immediately enters your sim. In most cases, MTN will send a message that your recharge was successful. If dial the wrong digits from the pin and error message will be sent to you. 

To check if your recharge is successful, dial *556# to check your balance.  

Recently, MTN introduced 10 digits Recharge Cards. To load this type of MTN recharge card dial *3551*PIN# 

Example:- *3551*6587001425#  

Instant Recharge Code

You can load your MTN Card using method if you have a bank account. Of course, I believe you do. How to load your MTN Card using this method is dial *904*Amount#. The moment you dial this code you will be prompted to choose the bank from which you want to load the credit from especially if you are using two or more bank accounts. 

Your MTN sim or line must be the one the bank has or registered with the bank to be able to use this method, that is the phone number that you use  for  receiving alert from the bank.  

So dial *904*500#, choose your bank and instantly you have been credited. 

Bank Recharge Codes

Bank recharges cards are another method of how you can load your MTN Card. MTN and other network providers partner well in this regard. Their partnership allows subscribers to load recharge their lines and that of others from their bank accounts. This is a free service which comes with no service charge. The code varies from one bank to another.  

Here is the list of the code to load your MTN card with most Nigerian banks USSD codes

First bank – *894*amount# => *894*500# 

GTB – *737*amount#=> *737*500# 

UBA – *919*amount# => *919*500#

Zenith Bank – *302*amount# => *302*500#

Access Bank – *901*amount# => *901*500#

Stanbic Bank – *909*amount# => *909*500#

Fidelity Bank – *770*amount# => *770*500#

EcoBank – *326*amount => *326*500#

In order  to load credit or airtime for your family and friends using the bank recharge codes you follow the same procedure but this time you add the receiver’s phone number after the amount. 

Here is the code for the banks

GTB – *737*amount*mobile  number#=> *737*1000*08165834567# 

UBA – *919*amount*mobile number# => *919*1000*08165834567#

Zenith Bank – *966*amount* mobile number# => *966*1000*08165834567#

Wema Bank – *322*035*mobile number*amount# =>*322*035*08165834567*1000#

Fidelity Bank – *770*mobile number*amount# => *770*08165834567*1000#

How many Digits is MTN Recharge Card 

The MTN recharge card comes in two forms. 

  1. Some MTN recharge cards have 17 digits which are loaded using *556*PIN# 
  2. Some MTN recharge cards have 10 digits which are loaded using *3551*PIN#
