To locate your call ID settings also known as the phone number hiding setting in your smartphone, here are the steps:
Click the Call App or folder to access the list of previous calls. The image below shows the sample of the Call folder or Call App on a home screen of an android phone.
The second step is to click on the vertical three-dotted colons by the right side of the search form/space above the list of previous calls. The image below shows a sample of such a location.
There will be a dropdown of lists of operations when you click the colon, items in the dropdown are; Call History, Clear Frequents, Settings, and Call Blocking. Click on the call settings as shown in the image below.
The call settings will reveal a list of settings available for calls such as Display Options, Quick responses, calling accounts, Voicemail, Accessibility, Fast Dial, Call recording, Prompts for call connection, mobile tracker, and lots more. The picture below shows an example of what is inside the list.
Click on the ‘Calling Accounts’ option. To reveal your SIM card option you want to carry out the settings. This is very common for double SIM Card smartphones.
From the list of available SIM Cards, click the one you will like to hide its number from anyone you are using it to call. For example, if you have MTN and Airtel SIM Cards on the phone you have to select the one you are hiding its number from anyone you will be using to call. The picture below reveals MTN NG as the only SIM card in the phone. So I selected it.
The SIM Card options will open up with options like Fixed dialing numbers, Call forwarding, Call barring, additional settings, and LND list. Click on the ‘Additional Settings’ as shown in the picture below.
The Additional Settings will reveal the following options when you click it: Call-ID and Call Waiting. Click the “Caller ID” option as shown in the picture below.
Once you click the ‘Caller ID’, a popup will show just like the one on the phone screen in the image below this paragraph. The options in the popup are: Network Default, Hide Number and Show Number.
Click on the second option which is the ‘Hide Number’ as shown in the picture below this paragraph and the popup will disappear. At this point, you have successfully set the SIM card to a hidden Number or private number to anyone you will be calling with it.
