I want to reveal a little secret to those new in the Airtel network. Assuming you have been using Airtel and have not known the secret I am about to reveal, you need to thank me after this post.
Assuming you are the type that usually travels to places, there are times you run out of credit on your phone. You look around the area without any vendor selling recharge card and to worsen it all, you cannot recharge with your bank account because you probably have not registered for mobile banking services. In such a situation, your only option is to borrow credit from your network provider directly. But what if your network provider has not really qualified your number to borrow credit? In that case, you have to seek someone’s help. The person who can send you instant credit to save the situation. The good thing about this unique service provided by the Airtel network is that it’s totally free, meaning it wouldn’t cost you any money to do it. Besides, Airtel understands that you probably don’t have any money on your phone not even for a simple text message. To explain your situation to someone for help.
Besides the above situation, a student can still use the same service to beg credit from their loved ones who will be willing to be sharing airtime with the student. It is unique of staying connected and passing information about the urgent need for some credit on your phone.
It is common for the person you are asking to give you credit to call you first and hear directly from you before sending credit to you.
Assuming you are in any of the situation mentioned above, here are ways you can ask someone to send instant credit to you if you are using the Airtel network:
Ensure your phone battery is not remaining one bar to enable you to dial the code properly.
From your phone screen dialing section, type in the following code *141*8*recipient number# and use the send button to send it as though you are calling the number.
This code will automatically send an instant message to the recipient to whom you added the number in the text message.
The recipient will receive a message saying “Please Credit Me“ this simple and short message will prompt the recipient to either call you or make an instant credit transfer to your mobile number without wasting time.

HOW TO GET INSTANT CREDIT FROM SOMEONE IN CASE YOU RUN OUT OF AIRTIME
THINGS YOU MUST CONSIDER BEFORE USING THIS SERVICE:
Ensure the phone number you are using is Airtel.
Ensure the phone you are sending the message to is an Airtel phone number.
Know that the credit sent to you using this service cannot be sent to someone else or returned to the person who sent it.
The service is free but the person sending the airtime to you will be charged N10 for every credit transfer.
Do not abuse the service by dialing the code unnecessarily.
If you dial the code wrongly your recipient will not see the request you are making.
Always remember to add the last ‘#’ code because many people usually make the mistake of not adding it.
You can resend the code if you feel the recipient has not received it.
Assuming you have actually taken note of all the things mentioned above, you will not have a problem using this service in the Airtel network, however, you need to memorize the code *141*8*…..# to make it easy for you to remember any time you need an emergency credit in your phone.
